Sen. Hawley introduces Bad Landlord Database Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Bad landlords are being targeted in a new bill introduced by U.S. Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri.

The Bad Landlord Database Act would require the Department of Housing and Urban Development to create a database to help track landlords who've committed violations.

Executive Director of the Legal Aid of Western Missouri, Joe Dandurand, said, "We believe this proposed bill is a very good step in the right direction and we applaud the Senator’s recognition of the need to address this chronic issue in Missouri, not just in the major urban areas, but throughout rural Missouri as well."
